is it still watchtower dogma that the seven trumpets of revelation refer to seven conventions in the 1920s?

would many jws these days even be aware of this?

i find it so amusing that seven little conventions in the distant past, almost a century ago, could be equated with such an iconic biblical passage.

i was just talking about this today. the revelation book is no longer available so is no longer a reliable source for jw's so if you research a verse as a jw and you find the newest understanding is the revelation climax book, how can they put any trust in the explanation given?

is this passage one of the ones that has caused the book to be removed? there is no way of knowing. how much of it is nonsense how much is reliable? poor jdubs lol

maybe 2018 they will get new light, the problem is regarding trumpets, much like the problem of 607bce to 1914, i dont think there is anything to replace it. bless

Why do we speak out once we learn TTATT?? Because the Society TRAINED us to do so!

i was just thinking about how the gb / society hates it when people like us dare to speak up or mention anything negative about the society.. they try and demean us, or colour witnesses view of anyone who leaves - especially if we speak up!

we know the sort of rhetoric they have been spewing forth over the last few years.. but the gb needs to face the fact that we speak out because we have been trained to do so by them!

they have used scriptural passages to encourage us repeatedly to "preach with boldness"(acts 4:29-31 eph 6:19).

my whole adult life i would find a "spiritual gem" in a watchtower and want to share the thought / idea / new understanding with those around me... then i learn TTATT and i find a corrupt little gem in a watchtower and of course my habit, my training, my love of truth, makes me share this new thing.

the fact that it hurts watchtower corperation is incidental lol. they made me this way, now they must enjoy the fruits of their labour :)

Past child abuse comes to bit me in the butt

here i am 63 years old, out of the cult going on 8 years, went through a year of therapy back in 2007, been working very hard to become the person i have always wanted to be.

but what happen to me a few days ago just blew me out of the water for the past two days.

i am now finally coming to grips with my emotions and understanding what caused me such distress.. here's what happen.

the behaviour there is typical 'gas lighting' and it almost hurts as much as the actual abuse. part of the gas lighting technique involes minimising events, telling you, "thats not what happened" or "you are exaggerating " "you are remembering wrong"

all of these type of attack hurts very deeply. it boggles the mind that anyone would attack the abused and not the abuser. :(

speaking to a reporter recently a jw media rep at hq said " our main purpose going door to door is not to convert but to share bible truths with people".

why not openly say they are in the harvest season, they are sorting fish from the draagnet, they are following the command to make disciples?

why hide their true purpose of recruitment? does this work in other sales environments?

Why the 2 witnesses rule is not worth attacking........barking up the wrong tree!

some former jw protesters are wasting their time and energy "exposing" or criticizing the watchtowers 2 witness rule here's why:.

lets suppose the governing body changes this and expells anyone accused of child molestation even if accused by one person.

would that solve the problem?

directly tied to the 2 witness rule fight is the part where they dont report to authorities. where there is no 2nd witness or confession the matter is dropped.

the 2 witness gig is purely for congregation action. who cares whether the pedo is allowed to use mics again, if authorities are aware the matter, it will be processed in a way that if guilty puts it all in public domain solving a number of problems raised in your post

i have thought long and hard about this, you know in those midnight hours.. you will probably string me alive in what i say, but here you go-.

i feel that the jw's do have the truth.

i do agree with the doctrines and biblical exgenesis they propound.i do feel that they have the 'truth' i do understand they are imperfect, and i think they have had to 'refine' their teachings as time has gone on-and change accordingly- i see nothing wrong with this.

you hope for new light yet the .org put out a video just a few days ago saying WE WILL NEVER CHANGE our teaching on the two witness rule, so you unfortunately will never get relief from the indefensible way of handling child abuse.

January 2018 Message of Judgment - What Is This?

i've now seen a couple of references to this and did a little digging before leaving for work.

i saw someone on reddit in july saying that someone on the inside said a change was coming in 2018 with the jw message, and i've now seen two references to this in the past week.

help a former brother out.

it is as stated above an internally dreamed up justification for the reduction in magazines but it does have a feel of 1975 to it. remember they had the truth book and you had to study for only 6 months and then if they dont want to take steps to baptism, dump them. because you know, the end is nigh

now they are suggesting dump your route calls we only want people who make progress to baptism.

so in the minds of jdubs, they hear, THE END IS NIGH. they cant say but they know the end is nigh. time is short, its not even just around the corner, its so close you can taste it. blah blah soon, blah blah very soon. do more do more lol
